Two policemen were shot by suspected gangsters while on a mission to foil an alleged bank robbery in Nairobi. One of the gang members was shot dead by police officers who responded to the shoot-out near Roasters at the junction of Kilome and River Road streets. Central police boss Richard Mungai said a loaded pistol was recovered from the slain suspect. His accomplices escaped into the crowded streets. Witnesses said they called the police after they spotted one man in a group of four carrying a gun.(The Star, Friday, February 12, 2010)
